Welcome to my website. My name is Catherine, 34 years old and I’ve been working as an independent professional in mental healthcare for over 10 years. In particular, my heart goes out to children and their families.

Both on a personal and professional level I discovered how important it is to be able to cope with daily stress. Family tensions and life-changing events can have a major impact on our well-being. Hard and passionate work can take its toll if you don’t take good care of yourself.

That’s how I came to set up this website to share all my knowledge and experience with as many people as possible, so that everyone can enjoy the benefits.

How I learned to deal with my stress

After my studies, as a 23-year-old young lady, I was very enthusiastic and motivated to throw myself into the field. Nothing was too much to ask of me:
I knocked many, long hours, did extra work for clients, helped colleagues where I could, etc…

Until at one point it became too much for me. I felt completely overwhelmed by all the work and the emotional heaviness of the many cases I followed.

Even at home there were signs that I wasn’t doing well: My partner indicated that I reacted more quickly, could suddenly erupt for small things, had little use for activities together. It was hard to stay in touch with each other while I lost myself more and more.

That was when I decided that something really had to change. I wanted to have more energy back and especially the feeling of space in my head.
First I started taking yoga classes. This brought me a lot of relaxation: physically and mentally. I felt that my body needed movement and that this also gave me peace in my head.
Then I discovered the power of meditation. I did online research, read several interesting books, started working with meditation apps. Today meditation is an essential daily part of my life. Every morning I start my routine with a form of meditation: guided, in silence, through mantras or visualizations, through singing bowls, etc…
This brings me into the right flow and helps me to find a balance between work and private life. I couldn’t live without it anymore!
